about

I came up with the main melody for this song in a wonderful dream where I had died and was ripped apart on the subatomic level. This soft tinkling bell line played as I watched my world reduced to stardust The last line of this song (spoken while the rest of the music has died off) came to me in a separate but unrelated dream. The brief lyrics presented here are about living with regret. It's an angsty piece I put together to help me cope. Kali is the Hindu goddess of destruction. The title comes from the washes of pink noise in the beginning and toward the end. Pink noise is the sound of white noise but filtered so that the lower harmonics are emphasized. White noise is pure random signals with equal power at all portions of the frequency spectrum. Pink noise exists so that it can compensate for flaws in human hearing and sound more equal at all frequencies. I chose this for a motif for this song and for the album title because of the symbolism of purity being destroyed to compensate for mankind's flaws. I got Sindelle of Scream Machine to add her vocals to this and I am soooooo happy with the result!

lyrics

This isn't what I imagined,
Surrounded on all sides by the grave.
This isn't how I saw it ending,
Drowning in my mistakes.
Let the waves come down upon me,
As the ocean swallows me whole,
I’m left here calling out to Kali,
"When does my penance begin?"

Let's just fall apart, in silence, if we may…

Age of Endarkenment Killeen, Texas

So why the name change? Whore was a moniker that was autobiographical, but it was descriptive of a different me. So what's left for the old Whore? Bitter resentment toward the species. Loathing. A fascination with the way deities come and go throughout history. Now that the Enlightenment is over, a new age has arrive; an Age of Endarkenment. ... more
